Ego's Labyrinth Demo
A downloadable game
Ups and downs, ups and downs.
Presented to you by the Independent Gamedev Coalition at UC Santa Cruz, in a team consisting of Avery Knowlton, Cameron Dodd, Kira Way, and Ben Daly, comes a very strange game indeed.
Originally conceived of by Ben Daly as a game for the 2023 Dungeon Crawler Jam, the game has become somewhat of a different beast.
EGO'S LABYRINTH is a metaphor about ups and downs. It is a game where you heal by taking damage, and you take damage by healing. It is a game where you cannot stay "in the middle" for too long.
You are Ego, trapped in a maze of your own design, balancing a tightrope between heaven and hell, order and the id.
Can you make it to the end of the Labyrinth?
- The game is a demo -- a fully fleshed-out map providing a mighty challenge and balancing act for the player.
- Striking visuals, atmosphere, and sound design.
- Interconnected mechanics creating a puzzle-action experience unlike anything you've ever played.
- Made by game students! ☺
Sound attributions/licenses can be found here! Sound implemented using FMOD.
